Responsible investments

Our focus on social responsibility is integrated throughout the investment process, from the design of the investment universe to the execution of company analyses.

We believe that what characterises quality companies today is not in conflict with good values - on the contrary, they can be two sides of the same coin. A vision that goes beyond pure profit maximisation can promote long-term thinking and provide strategic advantages. Consideration for the environment and climate can also be a profitable strategy in the long term. Companies that reduce emissions, adapt to regulatory requirements and keep pace with developments in green technology are better equipped for the markets of the future and reduce the risk of costly adjustments later on.

As long-term investors, we therefore believe that companies that take ethical shortcuts or operate in an unsustainable manner actually represent a higher risk over time.

Financial profit and social benefit are not necessarily mutually exclusive. We believe that companies that take environmental and social issues seriously can create significant added value for their owners – and for society.

We do not invest in companies or industries that violate fundamental ethical standards or undermine the environment. Our focus on social responsibility is integrated throughout the investment process – from the design of the investment universe to the execution of company analyses.

SFDR

We live in a world facing environmental and social challenges, particularly in relation to climate change and inequality. Such sustainability challenges increasingly pose risks to both the global economy and the financial system. As investors, we are committed to making responsible investments that contribute to a more sustainable world.

In March 2018, the European Commission published an action plan for financing sustainable growth (the ”EU Action Plan”), which set out a strategy for sustainable finance in the EU. Part of this plan is an update to Regulation (EU) 2019/2088 on sustainability-related disclosures in the financial sector (SFDR). Read more about how CARN complies with SFDR. here.
