CARN signs United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment

April 7, 2017

PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment) is recognised as the leading global network for investors who are committed to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into their investment practices and ownership policies. The PRI’s network of international investors work together to implement a set of voluntary principles that provide a framework for integrating ESG factors into investment analysis and ownership practices aligned with investors’ fiduciary duties.

CARN Capital is one of the very few Norwegian financial institutions to publicly commit to investing its fund in a more responsible and sustainable manner using the PRI’s voluntary framework.

As a long-term investor, we are naturally focused on material ESG factors and the responsible stewardship of our portfolio companies. ESG factors are incorporated in our investment process and through our ownership we directly influence the companies to continuously improve performance in these areas.

At CARN, we believe that an economically efficient and sustainable global financial system is a necessity for long-term value creation. Such a system will reward long-term, responsible investment and benefit the environment and society as a whole.
